First Steps into Somnium Space
Somnium Space is creating an open, social, and persistent virtual reality world built on the blockchain. A world that is shaped and built entirely by players. A world where you can buy virtual land and build almost anything you envision on it.
Somnium is accessible in 2D mode on Windows PCs and with PC VR.
There is also a Somnium Space Web version. Somnium Web and PC version aren´t the same.
First Steps:
1. Download the VR Client from the Somnium website www.somniumspace.com
2. Install the somniumspace.exe file with double click on the file you downloaded
3. Open the Somnium Launcher and make a new account
4. When logged in open the 2D client to download Somnium content inside the mainland of the vr space upfront (this reduces waiting times inside the headset)
5. Open SteamVR and make sure your headset of choice (also quest link/rift) shows up correctly THEN click on the VR button in the Somnium Launcher to start the VR experience.
Finding r00ts club
R00TS CLUB is a community driven space in the Metaverse that promotes diversity and inclusion for underrepresented groups. The club also aims to be a safe space for authentic expression of female and non-binary identifying individuals working in Web3.
How to Search for Parcel #4171
Open the Somnium Map in the top-right hand corner and search for Parcel #4171. Follow arrow towards r00ts club.
Directions:
1. Welcome to the Main Plaza in Somnium Space
New players will spawn at the Main Plaza.
2. Locate the Nearest Teleporter
There are two Teleporters by the Somnium Mall Building. Use Teleporters to locate and navigate to different parcels.
3. Open Map to Locate r00ts club
3.1 Use the dial to scroll out and expand view of the map. To do so, pull on the circle to the left.
3.2 Pull the map down to the bottom left corner to find r00ts club
3.3 Select this Teleporter by the Lake and Click on "Take Me There"
4. Walk a few meters to r00ts club
5. Open r00ts club world
